About Me

My name is Keri and I run Knots, Strings, and Other Things.

It all started when I developed dermatographia. Having anything (fabrics, wool, heat, anything) on my skin caused a break out of hives. I wanted to knit something for myself but couldnt find a yarn that was skin safe for me in the colour that I wanted. When all else failed, I figured I would have to do it myself. 

And so I did!

I found an undyed yarn in my stash that worked for me, got in touch with the mill which spun it and that became my first yarn base. I have continued to find locally made bases which are gentle enough to not trigger my dematographia.

I continue to bring NZ wool to NZ artists so or projects can showcase beautiful wool and skill.
